Audio Trim
Cut MP3s, voice recordings and music online. Trim the ends or snip out the parts you don’t want — the rest joins up, ready to use.
Your browser is too old for Audio Trim. Please open this page in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
Your file is processed in your browser. It is never uploaded to any server.Once the page is open, you can even go offline.
Three steps
Open your audio
Choose or drop an MP3, M4A or WAV file. Voice memos, meeting recordings and songs all work.
Trim
Move the playhead to the spot, press “Trim” and drag its handles. Then choose “Cut this part” or “Keep only this”. Handles snap to the playhead, so you can cut by ear.
Export an MP3
Listen through, then export. The bitrate matches your original automatically — no settings to learn.
Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Opening, playing, trimming and exporting all happen inside your browser, so your file never leaves your device. Once the page has loaded, you can even go offline and keep working.
Which formats can I open?
MP3, M4A (including iPhone Voice Memos), WAV, AAC, AIFF, and the sound track of MP4 or MOV videos, up to 3 hours long. Other formats such as FLAC or OGG work when your browser supports them, up to 60 minutes on a computer or 15 minutes on a phone.
How do I remove a part from the middle?
Tap or drag the waveform to move the playhead to that spot, then press “Trim”. Drag its handles to set the range — they snap to the playhead when close — then press “Cut this part”. Cut as many parts as you like; everything left joins up automatically, with a tiny fade at each join so there are no clicks. Use “Hear the join” to check how it sounds.
I only want a short clip, like a ringtone.
Mark the part you want and press “Keep only this”. Everything before and after it is cut. Then export.
What file do I get?
An MP3 by default, at a standard bitrate close to your original, so the file does not balloon in size. Open “Advanced” to choose WAV instead or pick a bitrate yourself.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. On iPhone the exported file is saved to the Files app. In-app browsers such as those inside chat apps may block downloads; open the page in Safari or Chrome instead.
What if I cut the wrong part?
Undo and redo are always there. Tap a red hatched area on the waveform, or the cuts button at the bottom, to restore any part. Your original file is never changed.
